Needed to share this with you all.
Last night we were all up to see the new year in - like you all. At midnight I noticed 2 bright red/orange orbs in the sky. I called my Dad out to look as he knows quite abit about aircraft so wanted to see if they were helicopters - he said proabbly then as they were overhead there was no change to the light - they were ords of light not something with a light on the front or side. then one suddenly moved very fast - of cause being me I got very excited. All of a sudden more appeared - all moving in the same direction. This petered off about 12.20 - by which time Adam my boy was a bit scared that we were being invaded by aliens...
Having watched them for 25 mins my Dad and me concuded that they were probally Chinese Sky Lanterns.
I know nothing about chinese sky lanterns appart from the basics - released to take bad luck away and leave god luck with the person who released them and i think they are also used to remember the dead.
Does anyone know how long these things last, how high they go or how far they go. I know that it will be something i will be trying out...
